August Event 2018: Makan Majulah! Celebrating NDP in Tokyo (SSAJ x SAiJ)

On the 4th of August 2018, Saturday, the Singapore Student Association Japan (SSAJ) and Singapore Association in Japan (SAiJ), respectively the student and working bodies of Singaporeans living in Japan, came together to co-organize a special afternoon luncheon, Makan Majulah! Celebrating NDP 2018 Tokyo, in commemoration of Singapore’s 53rd National Day in 2018.

With the kind partnership support of GIC Japan, Rakudo and OSU, Makan Majulah! saw a successful attendance of over 50 Singaporeans and friends. Participants of Makan Majulah! came from different walks of life, ranging from exchange students to working professionals living in Japan, bound by a common interest in Singapore. This afternoon of casual networking and making new friends was spent over enjoying delicious local Singapore cuisine at Rakudo, the latest Singaporean restaurant to open in the urban chic streets of Omotesando, at the heart of metropolitan Tokyo, right here in Japan.

Moving forward, SSAJ and SAiJ will continue to work with existing and future partners to organize even more events for each of the various groups of Singaporeans living in Japan, so as to foster a closer and more active Singaporean community in Japan. Stay tuned!
