Thank you to everyone who came for our Winter Trip despite your busy schedules, exams and thesis papers! Hope everyone had as much fun as we did. Here's a picture of Guanyin (Kannon-sama) from Gunma for good luck this week! Pictures of the Winter Trip can be found on SSAJ's Facebook page. Stay tuned for our next event in January!
Thanks for coming to our first joint hosted job-hunting seminar last Saturday! We hope that you have enjoyed the food/experience and found it fruitful. Please let us hear your feedback or requests for more similar networking experiences through our general email: general.ssaj [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thank you everyone who came for the MOONCAKE FESTIVAL MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL last Saturday! We had fun eating mooncakes and playing with sparklers. Pictures of the Mid-Autumn Festival Event can be found on SSAJ's Facebook page. See you all at our next event!
Thank you to everyone who came for this year's Don't Merlion on 9 July 2016! We had a 3 hour karaoke session where everyone sang out their pent-up frustration from finals, followed by an amazing okonomiyaki/monjyayaki all-you-can-eat! It was also the first event organized by the new EXCO. Pictures of the Don't Merlion Party can be found on SSAJ's Facebook page. See you at our next event!
For the last event before the ExCo stepped down, SSAJ organised a Laser Bowling event at Shibuya on the 8th of May. Featuring three lanes for the exclusive use of SSAJ members, this was a bowling extravaganza that brought out the best from SSAJ members who could bowl (and well, those who couldn't too :P). It was a good first meeting for some of the members who had just arrived in Japan, and everyone got a chance to touch base with each other. Finally, as the ExCo's term comes to a close, we'd like to thank you for all the support over the past year, and we hope to see you at this year's AGM and ExCo Elections!
In April, we organized a picnic under the blooming sakura by Sumida River in Asakusa. This activity is traditionally known as a hanami, literally flowering-watching, where people would gather under the beauty of sakura trees in full bloom to enjoy nature and good company. Although it rained earlier in the morning that day, we had managed to get a good spot to lay our mats and proceeded to enjoy mingling with the accompaniment of snacks and drinks, as well as wandering along Sumida River to get a few shots of ourselves with sakura in the backdrop. (Everyone needs a seasonal profile picture right?) We hope that everyone had walked away with good memories, if not good photos of themselves.
For our March Event, we decided to head down to what is probably the most famous squirrel garden – Machida Risu-en. Before the entering the graden, we had a nice picnic by the lake nearby the squirrel garden. Cheryl and Vanessa amazed the rest of us with their 女子力, just look at the bentos they prepared! When we were full, we proceeded to to squirrel garden. The garden has been around since 1988 and has around 200 squirrels roaming freely in the main plaza. It was a great experience for all the participants, especially since we were allowed to pet the squirrels and feed them sunflower seeds.
