Singapore Students' Association (Japan) – SSAJ

A trip to Tokyo Disneyland on Christmas Day! This event was not organised by SSAJ but by one of our members. Well done! We sure had a lot of fun that day, although it was cold and fireworks were cancelled because of strong winds.

The Year End Reception organised by the embassy is better known as Bounenkai. Loosely translated, it means “A party to forget the year.”. SSAJ’s members attended this event and had lots of great food. Ning sung’s GREEN coat made some thought for a moment that a lime sherbet was walking around!

SSAJ participated in the AYNJ Festival 2008 to help promote Singapore and ASEAN. Many of the visitors to the event were Japanese and the merlion plush toy we borrowed from STB was the talking point of the day! Many thanks to Christy, Junying, Yinghui and Yue for representing Singapore in the Fashion Show.

SSAJ celebrated the Golden Week holiday with a day of fun at Shinjuku Gyoen! Yinghui and Yue went crazy taking model-like photos while the rest of the group played “dai dee”, bridge and other card games Singaporeans would play when they get together. Edward came late (as usual) and happily at a McPork from McDonald’s!

A group of SSAJ members decided to throw Bing Jun a birthday party at Odaiba! The night view was really nice for taking photos. That’s not the Golden Gate Bridge but the Rainbow Bridge!

SSAJ welcomed another group of new students to Japan in April 2008 with a traditional Hanami party!
